Maggie has been such a sweet addition to our family. She is so sweet, loving, and slightly spoiled.

We couldn't imagine not having her! 

Viking Longhouse

Aubrey studied the Vikings a few weeks ago in history.  To go along with one of the lessons the he kids made Viking longhouses. It is always fun when we get to do a craft to go with our lesson!

Kade,

We have blinked and you are six!  Where has my baby gone?  You have changed so much in looks over the years, and I find you looking more like your daddy.  :)  

You have the sweetest personality.  You enjoy making people smile with your silliness.  You are absolutely obsessed with Legos and Star Wars.  You're favorite Star Wars character is Chewie(at the moment). 

You have a love for Lays sour cream and onion chips! Ha! And you love to do anything that your daddy does. I pray that you will grow up to be just as great of of man as he is. 

You have come out of your shell so much in the last year.  You've played soccer and basketball and have made friends along the way.  I'm so very proud of you!! I love you bunches.

Christmas 2016

Over a month late but better late than never!  We had a wonderful Christmas!!

Making Inventory!

I've been busy busy crocheting new items to be listed in my etsy shop. I've added several really cute dish/wash cloths and have a few cowls that I need to get posted this week, I hope!!!

These dish cloths would make perfect gifts for teachers this Christmas, house warming gifts, and stocking stuffers! 

Great paired with a lovely soap!

The squared dish cloths measure approximately 10x10 and are the perfect size to dry dishes and hands with.

The circle cloths are great for scrubbing your dishes and wiping counters.

All are machine washable! :)

Soccer 2016

We signed the kids up for soccer this year and they are truly loving it.

Fall apparently is the best time to play because it is cooler...that's what the other parents say at least. ;)

But I think they're right! Practices have felt so good especially with the sun going down earlier.

Aubrey and Kade both are already asking if they can play next season too! So I guess we have that to look forward to in the coming months!

They both have made friends.

Especially Kade, which he needed. He has two "best friends". Lucas and Isaiah. The three of them together crack me up!

I have really enjoyed this season we're in right now with the kids!

Nine

Aubrey,

My sweet girl you are nine years old.  It seems like not so long ago I was rocking you to sleep and warming your bottles.  I really miss those precious moments we had when you were a baby. But I am loving our moments we are having together now that you are a big girl, like dates to Starbucks just the two of us.  You're favorite is the double chocolatey chip Frappichino.

You talk my ear off when it's just the two of us and I wouldn't have it any other way.  You share you heart with me and you have so many dreams and I pray that they may all come true one day. Your love of horses is crazy at times and sometimes I laugh because you are so obsessed with them.  I hope that God knows how much you love them and maybe one day he will bless you with many horses to care after.

My prayer for you this year is that you make new friends and deepen the relationship you have with the ones you have now.  I pray that you and I will stay as close as we are now and that you are always open and honest with me.  I pray that you know that your daddy and I love you unconditionally and that your Heavenly Father loves you even more.

First Day of Homeschool

Wow. I cannot believe it has been almost an entire year that I have posted on my blog. Life gets crazy and we have had a super busy year.

We started our homeschool year August 1st. I started earlier than usual so we could take a little bit more time off during the year if we need to. We took several breaks last year and we didn't finish up till the end of June and I do not want to have to do that again this year!

We also have lots going on with our homeschool groups so I want to be prepared to take "days off" for field trips etc. Even though technically those are still school days! ;)

Aubrey is in 4th grade this year. I know, hand me a Kleenex. I can't believe she is old enough for this.

She is doing a mix of curriculum this year and so far I believe we have everything figured out and I'm hoping it will be a smooth year for us both.

Kade is in Kindergarten. Or Pre-K. I really can't make up my mind. He's at a K level for everything except phonics. He just didn't catch on as well as I hoped last year. So we are reviewing/relearning to recognize certain letters and sounds. He was thrilled to do more school this year. I hope he will stay excited about it!!

Getting in the swing of things...

We are entering into our third week of school. I feel like we are finally figuring it all out. We know how much time is needed for each subject and I found Kade only lasts about 10 minutes at the table before he starts fussing "I'm so bored". 

Last week was really busy for us. And I'm realizing that I like schedule and I'm going to have to learn to be flexible. Kade has speech on Mondays, meaning we have to leave at lunch to make that. Aubrey has gymnastics Wednesday nights, which doesn't affect our school but stresses me out with dinner.. And Thursday mornings Aubrey has piano. So we can't even start school till later in the afternoon since that is also my grocery shopping day. Ahh I felt so drained last week. Not to mention we saw Dave Ramsey Thursday night and got home super late. But it was such a good time! 

Here's to a new week!! May it be filled with lots of coffee! ;)
